The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek in Bloomington IN

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek has Arrived at Royal Subaru

Subaru has improved its subcompact SUV lineup by introducing the brand new 2021 Crosstrek. The subcompact SUV is the envy of its rivals. The vehicle is rugged enough to handle the off-road fun in the Bloomington area. It has increased ground clearance with more of a big truck appearance, which results in an enhanced countryside drive.

Among its two gasoline engine options is the plug-in hybrid. Also, Subaru has loaded the SUV with high-end security features along with an all-weather security package. The cabin has luxurious aesthetics with plenty of legroom and cargo space.

The Redesigned Subaru Crosstrek

The new Subaru Crosstrek maintains its base look but adds a beautifully redesigned grille and front bumper. The roof rails remain a standard accessory and support additional cargo transported for family adventures or off-road fun around Spencer.

The Sport trim offers newly designed wheel arch moldings. It also adds a new finish to some parts of the vehicle, including the grille and side mirrors. Further, the Sport offers gray 17-inch alloy wheels.

How Does the New Subaru Crosstrek Perform?

The all-new Crosstrek offers three engine options. The base model of the SUV offers a 152-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The subcompact is mated with either a manual transmission or automatic transmission. The standard transmission is offered in the Premium trim and functions as a six-speed manually operated transmission.

With the automatic transmission, the standard engine can accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in 9.2 seconds. For an improved burst, the plug-in hybrid consistently posts an impressive 8.3 seconds when accelerating from a complete stop to 60 mph. The 2.5-liter engine produces 182 horsepower and is available in the Sport and Limited trims only. It creates a net of 30 more horsepower than the base 2.0-liter engine. The 2.5-liter engine provides 34 highway mpg.

The 2.0-liter engine offers 28 city and 33 highway mpg. The 2.5-liter engine nets about 27 city and 34 highway mpg. The result nets one less city mile but adds one mile higher on the highway than the 2.0-liter engine when traveling around Bedford.

The plug-in hybrid offers 35 mpg on the highway. It offers 17 miles of electric-only range. The battery will fully charge in about two hours on a standard 240-volt outlet. Still, when charging from a 120-volt outlet, the charge will reach capacity in about five hours.

What Are the Different Trim Levels?

Subaru has designed the 2021 Crosstek with five available trims. The options are:

  • Base
  • Premium
  • Sport
  • Limited
  • Hybrid

Safety & Interior Features

The 2021 Crosstrek offers Subaru's EyeSight safety suite, SI-Drive, and automatic start/stop. The higher trims offer fog lights, side-view mirrors with integrated directional signals, blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alerting. Each feature increases safety and improves the fun near Bloomfield.

What's in the Cabin?

The interior of the 2021 Crosstrek features Subaru's StarLink infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration is offered via the infotainment system. Smartphones have two connectivity options that include Bluetooth and USB connections. Subaru offers an eight-inch touchscreen available on two trims, the Limited and Hybrid options.  Also, SiriusXM satellite radio is available with a subscription.
