Part One

Part two of our helpful car care tips for your Independence Day weekend travels is all about tire care. Properly inflating the tires on your Subaru will aid your travels in a number of ways. Primarily, it makes your vehicle more efficient, as it uses less fuel to actually keep the tires rotating. In addition, it extends the longevity of your tires, as over-inflated tires will wear unevenly, while under-inflated ones will wear out more quickly. Neither of those is a good thing, which brings us to the third, and perhaps most crucial reason why proper tire pressure is important: safety. Worn down tires will struggle to maintain traction on the road, and are at greater risk for a blowout than those with proper tread and proper inflation tires. No one wants to spend their Independence Day weekend waiting by the side of the road for a tow truck, so it's important to check and properly inflate your tires prior to your trip.

Now, if you're fretting over not knowing the proper tire pressure for your vehicle, don't worry. Most folks don't know it off hand, which the proper PSI for your tires it's printed on a sticker inside the driver's side door.
