Advanced Safety Features

Safety is a big reason most drivers choose car A over car B, especially if it doesn't cost more. The Subaru Forester has an advantage over the Honda CR-V. Both vehicles come standard with a rear view camera, vehicle stability control, and antilock brakes with brake assist. But the advanced safety features on the Honda CR-V are only available on the higher trim levels. Subaru Eyesight is available on all Forester models except the base and costs less to add the Honda Sensing. Subaru EyeSight driver assist technology is a comprehensive suite of features that includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Sway Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, and Pre-Collision Throttle Management. The Subaru Forester also is equipped with more airbags than the Honda CR-V.

Performance & Power

You wouldn't buy a vehicle if it was fun to drive or if it was a terrible drive experience right? When it comes to performance the Subaru Forester is unbelievably smooth while delivering unmatched driving capabilities it all kinds of weather. Powering the Forester is a 2.5-liter Subaru BOXER engine that delivers 170 horsepower and can tow up to 1,500 lbs. The Forester also has an available 2.0-liter Turbocharged engine with 250 horsepower that powers the Forester 2.0XT Premium and the 2.0XT Touring. The Honda CR-V is powered by either a 2.4-liter four cylinder engine that delivers 184 horsepower. Or the 1.5-liter turbo four cylinder with 190 horsepower. The Honda CR-V can also tow 1,500 lbs.

Part of the Foresters amazing driving experience is the design of the BOXER engine which is a horizontal engine instead of V shaped. This allows the pistons to move side to side canceling out each other's vibrations while also taking up less room under the hood. The other part of the Foresters performance is the Subarus legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive standard on every vehicle. By having power continuously supplied to all four wheels you have outstanding traction and control. All-wheel drive is not a standard feature on the Honda CR-V.
